Well Well Well.... So I have officially jumped on the Blogger Bandwagon...
So just as an introduction My Name is Keri Palemani and I'm a wife to One and a Mother of One (and Hoping it STAYS that way ha ha...
My Husband and I have been married for 3 Years in August We LOVE married life and have had such a great experience thus far... Just earlier this year we welcomed our Very Beautiful first Baby girl... Alaska Keri Palemani at 7.2 pounds 51cms born at 7am 18th of Feb..
And from that moment on our life titles changed to "lives of Alaskans" haha well thats what i call it anyway.
Now to the lead up...ha ha
Being "Mormon" the expectation of having children straight after marriage is a very normal thing but for us it didn't quit go as planned... We were sealed for time and Eternity in the Sydney Australian temple for time and all eternity and shortly after we moved to Hamilton, New Zealand (home of the might ALL BLACKS)
Although at first I was VERY homesick for the first month i settled in and Loved my life in Hamilton.. Don't get me wrong I Love my family but being away for that time was such a beautiful thing ha ha..
We lived in our two bedroom home and at the time my Sister Nia was attending CCNZ so she Welcomed the idea of having her bigger Sisters move across the Tasman and Started to live with us a week after we moved... She wanted to move once we landed in the country but i told her i needed a full week by myself because we were just married.. and she understood ha ha.....
I did love Having her their made things a lot easier and I also think it helped her as well as it was her last year... Tevi and I were still in the honeymoon phase and i Hated doing things alone so we would do absolutely everything together.. NOW hmmmm its a bit different haha i still love him very much but iv finally let go and i do things with my Cousins and friends.( I think the title is Clingy Wife) He always encouraged me that it was ok to do things without him.... ha ha that makes me sound life a weirdo!
Our life in Hamilton was Fabulous i loved my work, Tevs work Our trips to Auckland, Stops to Pokeno, trips to tolaga Bay, The Mount! and all the beautiful beaches and fishing trips NZ had to offer we did a lot in that first year also traveled twice back to Australia for short holidays and other commitments...
We decided that we would try and have a Baby but we didnt fall pregnant at all while living in Nz
in 2010 we then Moved back to Sydney and Tevi was flying in and out working in Darwin.. The Money was Great but i would go sometimes 6 weeks without seeing him.. and that really hurts the heart ha ha.. I dont think i could have ever gotten use to living like that being away from my Husband Constantly worrying if an Abo would attack him in the outback!!
So we decided to move him closer and work where we were able to be a Full time family and more importantly for me have a more hands on role in the ward with ward callings.....
I think just that decision in itself was such a blessing to us and shortly after his return we fell pregnant...
Very exciting time for us Tevi is rather larger then average but he is a real softy has such a kind heart and is a giving man So of course when he found out he cried and it was like he won the lotto haha
my pregnancy experience sucked! i really didnt like it haha just before i fell pregnant i lost 14kgs on the Dukan Diet so i wasnt to pleased that i was about to rapidly put on weight..
We were told we were having a Boy and then a girl and i was so upset ha ha sobbing like someone had died lol my fear for my girls is that she would be ugly and be hairy like me so its much more safer to have a boy. But BOY was i surprised Alaska was Beautiful when she was born i was taken back on how girly she looked!!! I never believed in LOVE AT FIRST SITE but that day i fell in love at the first glance.. it was beautiful! how can such a beautiful think be made out of coke haha (cause i always drank coke while pregnant)
I wrote a Poem a couple of weeks after she was born about how i felt at the time it made me cry haha
so here it is....
To this world to us you were, a little none less then heard
From the day you were felt, on my skin love was learned
Amazing the things you are, when no voice to hear but great
to see
Beautiful is nothing when you were born, only in our hearts
real words are earned
What we do before your presence, never exists is hard
imagined
Only through you we see the days, the days of good the days
are forward
More to be heard, more to see, more to earn, imagine and
learned
Forward we look of
you our darling just sleep now and wake tomorrow
And so our lives REALLY BEGAN.... Life of an Alaskan :)
